摘要	alpha,beta-Unsaturated arylhydrazones (1) reacted with nitric oxide (NO) in the presence of a trace of oxygen to give alpha- (2a-2c, 2e, and 2f) or beta-nitro (2d and 2g) unsaturated hydrazones in good yield and with high stereoselectivity. The reaction occurs most likely by an electrophilic addition of NO2 to the carbon-carbon double bond of 1 at its alpha- or beta-position.
