男，陕西勉县人。1964年8月15日生，教授，地理科学系常务副主任、自然地理研究所副所长，兼任中国地理学会干旱半干旱地区地理建设分会秘书长、甘肃土壤肥料学会副理事长。现主要从事环境遥感与全球变化、干旱区资源利用与规划等方面的教学和科研工作。
