| Abstract | 城市的问题的产生，成为阻碍人类可持续发展的因素之一。“生态城市”这一构想为城市问题提供了很好的解决方案，例如英国的圣莫顿公司（St. Modwen）和伯德集团（Bird Group）共同提出的“中昆顿”模式为人们描绘了一幅未来可持续发展城市的蓝图。译者认为，应该将这种城市规划构想引介到国内，供城市规划、市政管理等部门及人员参考。
在翻译《中昆顿》的过程中，译者从词语和句子入手，运用目的论理论解决了所碰到的问题，即主要依靠目的论的三大法则：目的法则、连贯法则和忠实法则。其中重点运用目的法则（Skopos rule），因为翻译行为的主要决定因素是翻译目的。从目的论出发，原文不再是唯一可以参照的标准，而是信息的来源，目的论突出翻译目的的实现，突破了语言意义上的限制，扩宽了翻译策略与技巧，根据不同的目的，使不同语言和风格的译文成为现实。 |
| Other Abstract | Urban problems came into being and became impediments in human sustainable development. The introduction of “Eco-town” is one of solutions for such problems; for example, two companies, St. Modwen and Bird Group in UK have outlined a blueprint of future sustainable cities for us. And the author of this thesis thinks that such a city planning model should be introduced into China and be referred to by city planners and staff in relevant municipal administrative departments or designing institutions.
In the process of translating Middle Quinton, the author applied Skopos Theory and its three rules: Skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule, to solve the problems that were connected with words and expressions and sentences of the text. Of the three rules, the Skopos rule is the most commonly used rule because purposes determine translating strategies and skills. According to the Skopos Theory, the source text is no longer the only standard but a supply of information. Therefore, by emphasizing the purpose of a translation, the Skopos Theory removes semantic limitations, enlarges translating strategies and skills and makes the translation of various versions of text a possible and better endeavor. |
